Assessment Criteria

Every application is reviewed by the A-Beauty Export team against a consistent set of assessment criteria.

Applications are assessed on:

  • Brand readiness

  • Export potential

  • Product innovation

  • Market positioning

  • Manufacturing capability

  • Growth ambition

  • Alignment with international markets

Following assessment, applicants may be placed into one of the following pathways.

Tier 1

Businesses demonstrating a high level of export readiness and international growth potential.

Suitable applicants typically demonstrate:

  • Strong brand positioning

  • Innovative, market-ready products

  • Manufacturing capacity to support growth

  • Clear export strategy

  • Strong alignment with international retail or distribution opportunities

Tier 2

Businesses showing strong potential but requiring further development before entering international markets.

Suitable applicants typically demonstrate:

  • Innovative products

  • Strong market positioning

  • Early commercial traction

  • Clear potential for export with additional preparation

Not Ready

Some businesses may not yet meet the current program criteria.

This does not reflect the quality of the brand. It simply indicates that additional development may be required before international expansion.

Applicants in this category will receive guidance on the key areas to strengthen and are encouraged to reapply in future application rounds.

Examples may include:

  • Product or packaging still in development

  • Manufacturing not yet scalable

  • Brand positioning requiring further refinement

  • Limited commercial readiness

  • Regulatory or export requirements still outstanding
